  • Chinese New Years - Celebrate in Philadelphia's own Chinatown
  • Chinese New Year starts with the New Moon on the first day of the new year and ends on the full moon 15 days later.
  • Dragon parades and Fircrackers go off every Sunday during the New Years Celebrations, starting around Noon
  • The 15th day of the new year is called the Lantern Festival, which is celebrated at night with lantern displays and children carrying lanterns in a parade.
  • Shooting off firecrackers on New Year's Eve is the Chinese way of sending out the old year and welcoming in the New Year. On the stroke of midnight on New Year's Eve, every door in the house, and even windows, have to be open to allow the old year to go out.

  • The Dad Vail Regatta is the largest collegiate regatta in the United States. Hundreds of colleges with thousands of student athletes visit the city of Philadelphia during the second week of May every year.

  • Annual Canal Day
  • Canal Day is a long-standing neighborhood event which celebrates the 1823 opening of the Schuylkill Navigation System, of which the Manayunk Canal was a part. Attracting more than 10,000 people to Main Street, Canal Day is the first event that formally began promoting Manayunk.

  • First Union U.S. Pro Cycling ChampionshipFirst Union Pro Cycling
  • First Union USPRO Championship - Men's Pro Cycling
  • The First Union USPRO Championship is the longest running and richest single-day cycling race in the U.S. With a $130,000 purse, it is also one of the richest single-day events in the world for men. 140 of the world's best professional cyclists will compete on a 14.4-mile circuit on the fast and flat Benjamin Franklin Parkway and scenic Kelly Drive. During the race, cyclists will lap the grueling Manayunk Wall, with a 17 percent steep grade, 10 times. This race will determine the U.S. National Champion. This is a Tier I race on the 14-event Pro Cycling Tour.

  • First Union Liberty Classic First Union Pro Cycling
  • Women's Pro Cycling
  • International women cyclists will compete in the First Union Liberty Classic, the only World Cup Cycling race event for women in the U.S. and the world's richest single-day women's event. The winner will receive World Cup points. The race consists of 5 laps of a 14.4-mile circuit through Philadelphia with steep climbs up the Manayunk Wall. This is a Tier I race on the 14-event Pro Cycling Tour.

  • Manayunk Arts Festival
  • Philadelphia Magazine Manayunk Arts Festival is the largest outdoor arts and crafts show in the Delaware Valley. This juried show features over 250 artists from across the entire country. Last year, over 250,000 people flooded Main Street to see one-of-a-kind work displayed.
